Women's Tennis Begins Season on March 6
EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's tennis has been selected as the 2021 MAAC preseason favorite, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
The Bobcats earned 46 total points in the Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving four first-place votes. Fairfield finished No. 2 in the poll, earning three first-place votes and finishing just two points behind the Bobcats.
Director of Tennis/Head Coach Paula Miller led the Bobcats to four wins last year prior to the shutdown. QU defeated St. Francis, Sacred Heart, Saint Joseph's and Wagner all before the cancelation of the remainder of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bobcats went 6-0 in MAAC play in 2018-19, advancing all the way to the MAAC Tournament title contest. Miller – a four-time MAAC Coach of the Year – has led Quinnipiac women's tennis to five MAAC Tournament titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18).
Quinnipiac women's tennis announced its schedule on Jan. 21. The Bobcats will begin the spring season on March 6, hosting Stony Brook at the North Haven Health and Racquet Club. The program currently has 14 events scheduled prior to the MAAC Tournament, which will take place April 23-25 in Mercer, N.J.
