Bobcats Celebrate Senior Day with 3-1 Win Over Siena

HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Maggie Baker tallied a game-high 14 kills and added eight digs, while senior Nicole Legg recorded 12 kills and four blocks, as the Quinnipiac volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a four-set victory over Siena at home on Burt Kahn Court on Sunday afternoon.
Senior Nicole Migliozzi contributed a game-high 26 assists for the Bobcats in the 2021 home finale.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The Bobcats jumped ahead 11-5 early in the contest behind two kills apiece from Georgia Tselepi, Alexandra Tennon and Nicole Legg. Quinnipiac's lead reached 17-11 before Siena called timeout. However, that didn't stop the Bobcats' momentum, as they cruised to a 25-19 set victory.
SET TWO (25-21)
The two sides traded points to an 8-8 tie in the set before Siena went on a 5-1 run to take a 13-9 lead, forcing a Quinnipiac timeout. Out of the break, Quinnipiac stormed back with a 6-1 run of its own to take a 15-14 lead, forcing Siena to burn its first timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats went on a 4-1 run, capped by blocks from Aryanah Diaz and Legg to force the Saints to burn their final timeout of the set. The Saints cut it to as close as 23-21, but Quinnipiac held on for the set win behind a kill from Maggie Baker and a block from Legg.
SET THREE (22-25)
The two sides remained even through the set, playing to a 15-15 tie before Quinnpiac rallied for three straight points, capped by a kill from Diaz to force a Siena timeout. The Saints responded with a 4-1 run out of the break to knot the set at 19-19 to force a Quinnipiac timeout. With the set tied at 22-22, the Saints picked up three consecutive points to steal the set.
SET FOUR (25-16)
Siena jumped out to an early 8-5 advantage, forcing the Bobcats to burn their first timeout of the set. Quinnipiac stormed back to take a 17-14 lead behind a 12-6 run, forcing a Siena timeout. The Bobcats maintained pressure, going on a 3-0 run out of the break to go up 19-14 to force the Saints to burn their final timeout. The deficit proved to be too great for Siena, as Quinnipiac held on for the 25-16 set win and match victory.
NEXT MATCH
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 13, when Quinnipiac travels to take on MAAC-foe Manhattan at 1 p.m.
