Bobcats Fall Short in Five-Set Thriller at Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Junior Aryanah Diaz tallied 23 and 15 digs for a double-double, as the Quinnipiac volleyball team fell in a five-set thriller in its regular season finale against Iona on the road inside of the Hynes Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.
Senior Nicole Migliozzi contributed a game-high 26 assists for the Bobcats in the 2021 regular season finale.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The teams remained even in the set until the near end, playing to a 23-23 tie late in the frame. However, a kill from Nicole legg, followed by an Iona attack error allowed Quinnipiac to steal the set 25-23.
SET TWO (25-21)
Quinnipiac was dominant from the opening point, never relinquishing the lead in the set. The Bobcats jumped ahead 13-2, powered by three kills courtesy of Aryanah Diaz. Quinnipiac never looked back, coasting to a 25-12 set victory.
SET THREE (10-25)
The Gaels responded by opening the third set with a 9-1 lead, never allowing the Bobcats the chance to comeback. Quinnipiac was able to cut the deficit to as close as 9-5 before Iona ran away with the 25-10 set win.
SET FOUR (17-25)
Quinnipiac jumped out to a 14-10 lead before Iona came storming back with a 14-2 run to take a commanding 24-16 lead. Holding set point at 24-17, a Quinnipiac attack error allowed the Gaels to secure the set win.
SET FIVE (8-15)
The Gaels jumped ahead 4-1 and never looked back, eventually closing the set with a 15-8 win, taking the match.
NEXT MATCH
The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 19, when Quinnipiac travels to Siena for the MAAC Quarterfinals.
