Women’s Cross Country Finishes 15th at NCAA Regional Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Quinnipiac women's cross country team competed in the NCAA D1 Northeast Regional Championships Friday morning in Boston at Franklin Park. Senior Emily Young led the team with a 31st place finish (21:29) in the 6K race. Quinnipiac finished in 15th place as a team, which is one of the team's best finishes at NCAA Regionals in program history with 442 points and two finishers in the top 50.
Harvard took first place overall with 71 points.
Syracuse's Amanda Vestri won the meet with a time of 20:05. In the MAAC, Iona's Sophie Murphy and Gemma Nuttall were the only two runners to finish above Young.

- In 91st place, sophomore Alessandra Zaffina recorded a time of 22:30.
- Senior Amanda Carlson took 121st place with a time of 22:54.
- In her first NCAA Regional meet, first-year Lydia Keys finished with a time of 23:27 in 157th place.
- In 164th place, first-year Grace Michaud recorded a time of 23:33 in her first NCAA Regional appearance.
- Senior Kate Gihorski finished in 180th place (23:54).
