Bobcats Drop Road Match at Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball senior Nicole Legg tallied 12 kills as the Bobcats dropped a tight four-setter against Rider on Saturday afternoon.
Maggie Baker recorded 8 kills and Aryanah Diaz notched 19 assists along with 14 digs in the defeat.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The match started out as a nearly even split through the first 15 points, as the Bobcats led 8-7 in the early going. A solid run that included two Legg kills opened things up to 12-9. However, Rider was quick to respond, rattling off a 16-6 run allowing the Broncs to take set one, 25-18.
SET TWO (25-20, RIDER)
Rider started out strong in set two, opening with an 7-3 lead. A Legg kill sparked a Quinnipiac run, where she also contributed two service aces. Late in the set, the Bobcats went on another run thanks to back-to-back kills from Georgia Tselepi. However, the Broncs were able to pull away scoring five of the last six points in the set.
SET THREE (25-17, QUINNIPIAC)
The two sides went back and forth the first 15 points of the set, before an 11-1 Quinnipiac run vaulted them into the lead. Lexi Morse, Legg, and Tselepi each had kills down the stretch and the Bobcats won the third set, 25-17.
SET FOUR (25-21, RIDER)
The majority of the fourth set was all Rider, as the Broncs opened the set with a 9-3 lead. Two consecutive service aces by Legg and a Morse kill could not hold off Rider, as they finished the fourth set with six consecutive points.
NEXT MATCH
The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1:00 pm as travel to Jersey City to take on Saint Peter's.
