Zeni Becomes Just Third Bobcat in Program History to Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac track and field rising sophomore Tara Zeni was named to the 2020 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, as released by the committee on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Additionally, the Quinnipiac women's track and field program earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for the 2020 season.
Zeni joins Jessica Lee '18 and two-time honoree Shameal Samuels '16 as the only Bobcats in program history to earn the prestigious academic award.
Zeni was the only MAAC student-athlete to be recognized individually by the USTFCCCA. A total of 659 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must meet the following criteria:

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum CUMULATIVE grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
- Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the nominating institution.
- Athletic criteria for the award:
- For the indoor season: must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I descending order lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).
