Bobcats Earn Second-Place Finish at Benbow Invitational
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Elena Lopez took sixth place and Alexandra Sazhin placed tenth after Tuesday final round at the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida. Quinnipiac earned second place at +44 for the tournament, just seven strokes short of first-place St. John's.

SECOND ROUND & OVERALL SCORES
- Lopez earned a sixth-place finish with a 77 (+6) in the second round. The sophomore birdied three holes and played her last five holes of the day at -2.
- Sazhin improved by two strokes on Monday's round by posting a 76 (+5) that included a birdie on the fourth hole and 11 total pars.
- First year Kaylee Sakoda bounced back from a tough first round and improved by 11 strokes, recording a 74 (+3) in round two. The rookie birdied two holes and had a team-best 13 pars while playing the front nine at -1. Sakoda vaulted up the leaderboard, moving up 27 spots to a tie for 23rd place.
- Fellow first year Leeyen Peralta had a stretch of six straight birdies in the middle of her round, but ultimately finished with an 81 (+10) for the day and placed in a tie for 19th on the leaderboard.
- Junior captain Queenie Lai finished another solid tournament with a 77 (+6) that included a birdie at the par-four sixth and 11 pars overall. Her consistent play earned her a 15th place finish in the tournament.
- Sophomore captain Elena Ybarra competed as an individual golfer and beat her round one score by 11 strokes, posting a 76 (+5) in round two. Ybarra jumped from 60th place to a tie for 39th.
