Smith Helped High School Program to 2017, 2019 Western Mass. Title
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's soccer program and Head Coach Eric Da Costa have announced the addition of Jared Smith to the program's roster ahead of the 2020 season.
"Jared's commitment and determination are two of his many admirable qualities," Da Costa said. "He is an athletic defender with a good work rate and sound technical ability. We feel Jared will add depth and competition to our already very talented group of defenders. We very much look forward to welcoming him and his family into our program."

Smith is from Longmeadow, Mass. He played soccer at Longmeadow High School, helping lead the team to a 2017 and 2019 Western Massachusetts title.
Longmeadow captured the state championship in 2019, as Smith was selected to the All-Western Massachusetts Second Team for his performance. As a senior during the 2019 season, he scored two goals to go along with six assists.
"I chose Quinnipiac because I feel that this is a place where I can succeed not only athletically, but also academically," Smith said. "When I came down to Quinnipiac, I knew it was the perfect fit for me and I could see myself here for the next four years. I am very excited to become a part of the program and I can't wait to get started. I hope I can positively contribute to this program right away, and I can't wait to have a great career as a Bobcat!"
