Bobcats Turn Attention to ESPNU Game in Hamden on Friday, Feb. 21

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped a MAAC road matchup, 79-63, on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium vs. Rider.

The Bobcats closed out the first half on a 14-2 run, scoring the last 11 points before the break to cut the deficit to just nine points.

Rich Kelly led the way with 17 total points, adding four assists and shooting 6-of-14 from the floor. Kelly is averaging 16.1 points per game so far during his junior campaign.
Matt Balanc added in with 16 points of his own on 7-of-16 shooting. He now has 12 games of 10+ points, recording double-digit point totals in three of his last four games.
Kevin Marfo chipped in with nine points and 15 rebounds. The nation's leading rebounder now has 10+ boards in 23 of 24 Quinnipiac games this year.
Tyree Pickron scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds, and Tyrese Williams recorded eight points and two rebounds.
The Bobcats shot 23-of-67 from the floor (34.3 percent) and 8-of-37 (21.6 percent) from distance.
Quinnipiac was a +5 in the turnover margin, leading the Broncs 12-7 in miscues.
The Broncs largest lead was 22 points, which came with 12:25 left in the second half of action.
