Bobcats Grab Season-Best 14 Offensive Rebounds in Victory

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's basketball grinded out a win in its MAAC opener on Friday night, outscoring Marist 18-9 over the last 9:13 of regulation to earn a 63-58 win at McCann Arena. With the win, the Bobcats move to 6-5 (1-0 MAAC) in 2019-20.

Rich Kelly led the way with 18 points on 5-of-13 shooting, knocking down four three-point field goals. Tyrese Williams added 12 points, and Jacob Rigoni recorded 10 points in the victory.

Kevin Marfo grabbed 14 more rebounds, his 11th straight contest with double-digit rebound totals to begin the year.

Sophomore Williams chipped in with 12 points and a season-best seven rebounds. He shot 4-of-10 from the floor - with all 10 field goal attempts coming from three-point range.
Jacob Rigoni went 2-for-5 from three-point range and knocked down four free throws en route to a 10-point performance.
First-year guard Brendan McGuire played a career-high 34 minutes, stuffing the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Junior forward Kevin Marfo added 14 more rebounds in the Bobcats' victory, continuing his streak as the only Division I player to record 10+ rebounds in each game his team has played this season. Marfo leads the nation with 13.5 rebounds per game.
Quinnipiac's 85.7 percent shooting clip at the free throw line (12-of-14) is a season high mark.
Quinnipiac has won four of the last five matchups against the Red Foxes.
