Taylor Girard scores lone power play goal on the weekend and first as a Bobcat
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team lost the second game of the weekend in a one-goal game against the No. 5/5 Ohio State Buckeyes, 3-2. Juniors Laura Lundblad and Taylor Girard scored for the Bobcats. Senior netminder made 28 saves in the loss.
Girard netted her first goal as a Bobcat and the only power play goal on the weekend for either team.

- (9:32, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Ohio State 1: Ohio State's Madison Bizal scored the first goal of the game from the left circle. Emma Maltais and Lisa Bruno recorded assists on the play.
- (19:27, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Ohio State 1: Junior Laura Lundblad got possession of the puck at the edge of the neutral zone and took it herself past two Buckeye defensemen. She skated to the opposite side of the net and shot past Ohio State's Andrea Braendli.
- (13:33, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Ohio State 2: The Buckeyes regained the lead in the second period off a goal from Teghan Inglis right in the crease.
- (1:47, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Ohio State 3: Ohio State took a 3-1 lead early in the third period off a shot by Rebecca Freiburger from below the right circle. Freiburger found the back of the net above Ives' left shoulder.
- (9:50, 3rd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 2, Ohio State 3: Junior Taylor Girard scored the only power play goal of the weekend for either team and her first goal as a Bobcat with 10 minutes remaining in the third period. Sophomore Zoe Boyd found Courtney Vorster, who shot it towards the net from the right circle. Girard was screening Ohio State's Braendli and tipped it in.
- Lundblad tallied her fourth point in four-straight games and now has four goals and two assists for six points on the season.
- Girard scored her first goal as a Bobcat on the power play. She now has seven points on the season. She also led the team with seven shots on net.
- Boyd and Vorster recorded helpers on Girards power play goal.
- Quinnipiac's second goal was the only power play goal scored for either team through two games.
- Ohio State outshot Quinnipiac 31-20. The Bobcats, however, outshot the Buckeyes 7-3 in the third period.
- The Bobcats stayed perfect on the penalty kill through the weekend allowing just two power play opportunities for the Buckeyes through 120 minutes.
- Sophomore Lexie Adzija won 16 of 25 faceoffs, and the team won 55.7% total.
- Quinnipiac returns home after six road games to play the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m., at the People's United Center.
