Bobcats Extend Winning Streak to 5 Games, 4-0 in MAAC
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dominated much of Sunday afternoon's MAAC Tournament rematch with the Monmouth Hawks, cruising to an 84-70 victory at the People's United Center.
With the win, the Bobcats extend their winning streak to five games – the largest winning streak during the Baker Dunleavy era in Hamden. Quinnipiac has also won four consecutive MAAC games to begin the league schedule, which marks the first time the program has gone 4-0 to begin conference play.
Kevin Marfo put up one of his best games of the season as he grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds and tied his career-high with five assists to go with 13 points. Sunday marked Marfo's seventh double-double of the season.
Rich Kelly led all scorers with 21 points in the victory over the Hawks, with an impressive 11-for-12 performance from the free throw line, while Tyrese Williams added 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Bobcats went on a 31-6 run over a 13:34 span in the middle of the first half, going from being down seven points to up 18. Quinnipiac shot 9-of-17 from the floor in that span, knocking down six three-pointers. QU went 31-of-36 in total from the free throw line.

- Sophomore guard Tyrese Williams went 6-for-9 in total, knocking down five of seven threes. His 20 points are Williams' third-highest total of the season.
- Redshirt junior Kevin Marfo grabbed 14 defensive and seven offensive rebounds, becoming the first Bobcats since Ousmane Drame to grab 20 rebounds. Drame grabbed 23 rebounds on March 5, 2015 vs. Marist.
- First Year guard Brendan McGuire added nine points, five rebounds and three assists in the win.
- Graduate student Aaron Falzon chipped in with five points, finishing a team-best +24 on the floor.
- The Bobcats went on a 31-6 run over a 13:34 span in the middle of the first half, going from being down seven points to up 18. Quinnipiac went 9-of-17 from the floor in that span, knocking down six three-pointers.
- Quinnipiac is now 23-18 all-time vs. the Hawks.
