Bobcats Set to Open 2019 Season at Stony Brook Invitational

EDISON, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's cross country team was selected to finish fourth overall in the 2019 MAAC Cross Country Preseason Poll, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Iona, the defending MAAC Champions, was selected as the preseason favorite, earning 120 points. Marist was tabbed to finish second with 105 points, followed by Siena in third with 93 points.
The Bobcats received 91 points in fourth, and Monmouth earned 71 points in fifth. Manhattan tallied 65 votes, for the sixth position, followed by Canisius and Rider with 58 and 55 points, respectively. Niagara and Saint Peter's made up the bottom two spots of the poll.
The 2019 MAAC Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Monmouth University at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, NJ.
To start the 2018 season last year, Quinnipiac was voted to finish in third place.The Bobcats took fourth place at the 2018 MAAC Championships last October in Loudonville, N.Y.
Quinnipiac will open the 2019 season at the Stony Brook Invitational on Aug. 31.
