10 Bobcats Named to NIRA All-Academic Team

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's rugby team placed 10 student-athletes on the 2018-19 NIRA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league over the weekend.

Players are eligible for the award if they earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale and have participated in 50 percent of the team's games.

"The whole point of being a Bobcat is to pursue a degree while playing a sport that you love," said head coach Becky Carlson. "Our academic prowess proves that Bobcat Rugby is committed to that mantra and we couldn't be prouder of our NIRA All-Academic selections."

Of the 15 teams included, Quinnipiac is one of five teams with 10 or more players on the list.
