Transfer Junior Comes to Quinnipiac from Lindenwood University
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey program has added transfer junior Taylor Girard to the class of 2021, as announced by head coach Cass Turner. Girard is a native of Macomb, Mich., coming from Lindenwood University's women's ice hockey team in Saint Charles, Mo.
"We're excited to welcome Taylor to our program and into the Bobcat family," Turner said. "Taylor brings size, poise with the puck and an excitement to grow her game that will fit well into our daily approach to development. Taylor's scoring success at Lindenwood gives us confidence she will make an impact in our lineup right away. She brings a desire to win that will match our team's passion to win championships. We've truly enjoyed getting to know Taylor and her family and can't wait to partner with her over the next two years."
Girard led the Lions with 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points and had 34 blocked shots during the 2017-18 season as a sophomore. She was named to the first-team All-CHA (College Hockey America) during the same season.
During the 2018-19 season, she played through eight games and tallied three goals and four assists for seven points. For her career as a Lion, she played in 66 games, totaling 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points.
The team is looking forward to welcoming Girard to Hamden for the start of the 2019-20 season. The Macomb, Mich., native will join the Bobcats as a junior forward and will graduate in 2021.
