
Women's Hockey Wraps up Regular Season vs #5 Clarkson, St. Lawrence

GAME NOTES
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's hockey team will travel to the North Country to take on #5 Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23 to finish the regular season. The Bobcats secured a spot in the ECAC playoffs after recording two wins last weekend. The quarterfinals are set to begin March 1.
Scouting St. Lawrence
The Saints stand at 13-13-6 overall and 8-7-5 the ECAC. St. Lawrence will welcome Quinnipiac after going 0-1-1 on Feb. 15-16 against Harvard and Dartmouth. The Saints lost to Harvard, 2-4, and tied Dartmouth, 0-0.
Senior Justine Reyes leads the Saints with 25 points on the season (9g, 16a). Senior netminder Grace Harrison has played in 20 games for the Saints, recording a .925 save percentage and 2.16 goals against average.
All-Time Against the Saints
Quinnipiac has recorded an 11-17-6 all-time record against St. Lawrence. The two teams met Feb. 2 with the Saints taking the game, 5-4.
Scouting #5 Clarkson
The Golden Knights will host the Bobcats after going 1-0-1 and playing two overtime games against Dartmouth and Harvard. Clarkson lost, 3-2, in extra time to Dartmouth and defeated Harvard, 3-2, in overtime.
Senior Loren Gabel and sophomore Elizabeth Giguère lead the Golden Knights with 59 points each (33g, 26a and 21g, 38a, respectively). Five of Clarkson's players have recorded 20 points or more this season. Kassidy Sauvé leads Clarkson in the net playing 28 games, with a .931 save percentage and 1.80 goals against average.
All-Time Against the Golden Knights
The Bobcats hold an 11-23-4 record against the Golden Knights. The last time the teams met, Clarkson won, 3-2. Senior Randi Marcon scored in the first 15 seconds. Freshman Lexie Adzija also scored in the loss.
Bobcats' Last Time Out
Quinnipiac defeated RPI, 4-0, on Friday, Feb. 15, and Union, 5-0, on Saturday, Feb. 16. The Bobcats did not let in a single goal through two games and only allowed their opponents 24 total shots.
Against RPI, three Bobcats scored - senior Melissa Samoskevich (2), junior Sarah-Ève Coutu-Godbout (1) and sophomore Grace Market (1). The Bobcats shutout the Dutchwomen, 5-0, with Samoskevich scoring her third goal of the weekend. Sophomore Taylor House tallied two goals against Union along with, Coutu-Godbout scoring her secon of the weekend.
Lexie Leading
Freshman Lexie Adzija leads all Quinnipiac freshmen and is tied for fourth in the conference in freshmen scoring (5-9-14). She has tallied at least one point in six straight games.
Bobcats on the PK
Quinnipiac has gone 46-52 (88.5%) on the penalty kill through 20 ECAC games, which ranks second overall in the conference. The Bobcats are ranked 11th in penalty minutes, averaging only 5.2 PIMs per game.
Seniors on Fire
Senior Kenzie Lancaster has recorded 19 assists for the Bobcats to lead the team and is ranked fifth in the conference in assist scoring.
Senior Randi Marcon has recorded at least one point in six straight games. Marcon has already surpassed her point totals from last season with nine goals and five assists for 14 points in 2018-19.
Samoskevich recorded her 100th career point against Sacred Heart after scoring her 50th goal. She is the sixth women's hockey player to score 100 caeer points. The senior is now ranked third on the all-time individual goals record list (53) and fourth on the all-time individual assist list (53).
ECAC Playoffs on the Horizon
The Bobcats secured a spot in the ECAC Playoffs after two wins last weekend. The seven other teams in the playoffs will include, Princeton, Clarkson, Cornell, Colgate, RPI, St. Lawrence and Harvard. After the last two regular season games, the quarterfinals will be set.
