
Bobcats Capture 7-0 MAAC Win Over Niagara

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's tennis won its second MAAC contest of the season on Saturday night, cruising past Niagara by the final score of 7-0 at the Village Glenn Tennis Center.
With the win, the Bobcats move to 2-3 (2-0 MAAC) so far in 2018-19. Quinnipiac is now 27-10 in regular season MAAC matches since joining the conference in 2013-14.

- Aleksa Martinovic has won two singles matches so far this spring for the Bobcats. He topped Binghamton's Friedman (6-4, 6-3) on Jan. 19.
- Patrick Cachapero now has three doubles wins in three spring events for the Bobcats. He's won twice with Hielke Moore, and once with Alester Magalait.
- Hielke Moore has two doubles wins this spring, while Alester Magalit and Axel Stern have one doubles victory.
- Freddie Zaretsky, Alester Magalit, Patrick Cachapero, Hielke Moore and Austin Yannone all won their first singles match of the spring for the Bobcats.

PRESEASON POLL
- The Bobcats were tabbed second in the 2019 MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday, Jan. 17.
- The Bobcats, who received one first place vote in the poll, earned 42 total points. Quinnipiac finished just behind Monmouth, who earned 48 total points in the poll. Marist finished third, Fairfield fourth and Siena fifth in the preseason vote.
- Quinnipiac is back in action next Saturday, Feb. 16, traveling to Niagara for a 7:00 p.m. MAAC contest.
