Bobcats fall in semifinals to Stags, 1-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team fell to the No. 2 Fairfield Stags, 1-0, in a tight semifinal game on Thursday, Nov. 7. Fairfield's Gabby Diodati scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to send the Stags past the Bobcats.

The Quinnipiac women's soccer program is proud to recognize six seniors for their dedication to the program over the last four year - Olivia Myszewski, Charlotte Edmunds, Estefy Estrada Zavala, Mackenzie Tibball, Kylie Lance and Ally Grunstein.

(77' – Quinnipiac 0, Fairfield): Fairfield's Gabby Diodati scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute of the game. She dribbled past three Bobcat defenders at the top of the box, spun to her right and scored.

The Bobcats finished the 2019 season with a 10-8-1 record overall and a 5-4-1 MAAC record.
First-year Meaghan Phillips tallied four saves in the 1-0 loss. Phillips kept the Bobcats' hopes alive after making a toe save in a one-vs-one breakaway chance by Fairfield with five minutes remaining in the second half.
Fairfield out shot Quinnipiac 12-7. Fairfield had five shots on goal and Quinnipiac had four.
There were 23 total fouls in the game with Quinnipiac committing 12.
The Bobcats were called offsides six times.
