Bobcats begin MAAC Tournament on Friday in Fairfield
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team fell to Canisius in three sets in their regular season finale on Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats have wrapped up the sixth seed in the upcoming MAAC Tournament. They will being their play in the tournament on Friday in Fairfield.

SET ONE
The teams traded the first eight points of the set, leading to a 4-4 tie. Canisius won back-to-back points to take an 11-8 lead. Canisius won four straight points to take a 15-9 lead. The Bobcats went on a 3-0 run to cut the Canisius lead to 18-15. Quinnipiac called timeout with Canisius leading 20-16. The teams would come out of the timeout with Canisius maintaining a three point lead unitl a Maria Pansari ace would cut the Griffs lead to 22-20. Canisius would win the final three points of the set to take the set 25-20.
SET TWO
Canisius won five consecutive points to take an early 7-2 lead, which resulted in a Bobcats timeout. The Bobcats won two straight points to cut the Canisius lead to 12-8. A 5-0 run from Canisius gave them a 17-8 lead, leading to Quinnipiac calling their second timeout of the set. Canisius continued to build on their lead out of the timeout and they would take the set 25-10.
SET THREE
Quinnipiac took a timeout with Canisius leading 7-3 in the set. The Bobcats came out of the timeout and won two consecutive points to cut the Canisius lead to 7-5. The teams would trade points back and forth, which allowed Canisius to maintain a three point lead to the midpoint of the set. The Bobcats called their second timeout with the Griffs leading 19-13. The Bobcats fought off two set points, but Canisius took the set 25-20 and the match three sets to none.
