FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team forced top-seeded Fairfield to five sets on Saturday night, falling just short on the road in MAAC play.

Maria Pansari (Whitehouse Station, NJ) tallied a season-high 60 assists in the loss, giving her 495 so far in 2018.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bobcats got off to a great start in the contest, taking the first set 25-22. Quinnipiac recorded 17 kills and a .275 hitting percentage, as the Bobcats earned four straight points to win the set after trailing 22-21.
Quinnipiac then won the second set by the same score, 25-22. Kat Miller had 10 kills in the first two sets combined. The Stags led 14-11 before the Bobcats went on a 4-0 run to regain control of the set.
The Stags would bounce back, though, winning the final three sets en route to their sixth conference victory of the season.
Kat Miller (Collegeville, Pennsylvania) recorded 16 kills, Morgan Sherwin (Coplay, Pennsylvania) tallied 15 kills, and Lydia Jones (Glenn Dale, Maryland) recorded 14 kills to lead the Bobcats.
Miller also led the Bobcats with 20 digs.

NOTES

Miller (16 kills, 20 digs) and Sherwin (15 kills, 12 digs) both recorded a double-double in the loss for Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats recorded 64 total kills, which is the program's second-high total of the season.
Quinnipiac tallied 66 total digs, also good for second-most in a single contest this year.
