Sherwin and Jones Dominate Offensive Attack, Miller Records Double-Double
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac volleyball team used dominant stretches Sunday afternoon to cruise to a 3-0 sweep of the Manhattan Jaspers in MAAC play at Burt Kahn Court.
Morgan Sherwin (Coplay, Pennsylvania) paced the Bobcats once again with 14 kills while Lydia Jones (Glenn Dale, Maryland) tallied seven of her 13 kills in the third set as the Bobcats cruised to their second MAAC win of the season.

FIRST SET (Quinnipiac 25, Manhattan 15)
- The Bobcats got off to a great start in the match to take a 6-3 lead with Sherwin recording three of Quinnipiac's six kills
- After Manhattan tied the match 7-7, the Bobcats won six of the next seven points to take a 13-8 lead and force a Jaspers' timeout
- Quinnipiac inched its lead to 19-13 before winning four straight points to make it 23-13 off two Maggie Baker (Huntington Beach, California) kills and two Manhattan attack errors
- The Bobcats and Jaspers traded the final four points of the set to give Quinnipiac the 25-15 win
SECOND SET (Quinnipiac 25, Manhattan 22)
- The second set started as a set of runs as Manhattan opened with six of the first eight points before Quinnipiac called a timeout
- Out of the timeout, the Bobcats took eight straight points including two kills from Sherwin, to take a 10-6 lead and force the Jaspers to call a timeout
- Manhattan tied the match back up, 11-11, and the teams remained even through much of the set
- After Manhattan tied the set back up 21-21, before the Bobcats won four of the final five points off two kills and a service ace by Kat Miller as well as a service ace by Daniella Balsano (Bohemia, New York) to close out the set
THIRD SET (Quinnipiac 25, Manhattan 11)
- Quinnipiac and Manhattan remained even early in the first set before the Bobcats went on a roll with 14 straight points to extend its lead from 6-5 to 20-5
- Lydia Jones (Glenn Dale, Maryland) opened the run with three straight kills and finished with six kills in the stretch
- Baker also added two kills as part of the Bobcats' run
- After Manhattan pulled back within 12 points, Sherwin closed out the match with three kills over the next four points to cap off the win
NOTES
- Sherwin led the Bobcats once again with 14 kills, racking up double-digit kills for a fifth straight match while her .286 hitting percentage was her third-best of the season
- Jones was phenomenal on the attack for the Bobcats against the Jaspers, recording 13 kills on 17 attacks for a .765 hitting percentage
- Kat Miller tallied her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs while her two service aces give her 97 in her career, just three shy of becoming the third Bobcat with 100 service aces in Division I program history
- Miller has recorded a double-double in three straight matches
- Pansari distributed the ball with ease on Sunday, racking up 45 assists for her second best performance of the season along with two kills
- Alejandra Rodriguez (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) notched 14 digs to pace the Bobcats on the defensive side of the ball to give her three straight matches with double-digit digs and six of her last seven
- Maggie Baker nearly reached double-digit kills as she tallied eight off the bench for the Bobcats
