HOW IT HAPPENED
- Quinnipiac and UTSA exchanged the first two points of the match before the Roadrunners won five straight points to take a 7-2 lead
- The Bobcats kept it within five, capped by a Jones kill before seven straight points gave the Roadrunners a 20-8 edge
- UTSA extended its lead to 23-9 but Quinnipiac got four points, including a Kat Miller (Collegeville, Pennsylvania) service ace, before UTSA ended set with a kill at 25-13
- Quinnipiac and UTSA battled early in the second set and took a 5-4 lead on another Miller service ace and kills from Jones and Kaleigh Oates (Downingtown, Pennsylvania)
- The Roadrunners rattled off five straight points before Quinnipiac head coach Kris Czaplinski called a perfectly timed timeout.
- The Bobcats benefitted from a couple Roadrunner errors and a kill from Miller to tie it back up
- Both teams remained even but UTSA took a 22-17 lead after picked up seven of eight points following a 16-15 Quinnipiac lead.
- The Bobcats attempted to comeback from the deficit, pulling within 23-21, but the Roadrunners put away the set with back-to-back kills
- UTSA dominated the third and final set, starting off with 18 of the first 22 points, before the two teams traded points until the close
NOTES
- Jones played her best match of the weekend, leading the team with seven kills and two block assists, to go with her impressive .700 hitting percentage
- Miller tallied six kills and eight digs for the Bobcats
- Maggie Baker (Huntington Beach, California) had three kills and five digs while Maria Pansari (Whitehouse Station, New Jersey) totaled 18 assists, five kills and added an assist
