HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's basketball team had a league-high four players named to the 2017-18 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team, it was announced today by the league office.
The Bobcats had both captains, graduate student Alain Chigha (Yaounde, Cameroon - pictured) and senior Greg Tarca (Montgomery, N.J.), chosen to the squad, along with junior twins Aaron Robinson (Takoma Park, Md.) and Andrew Robinson (Takoma Park, Md.). The second-highest total for a MAAC team was two All-Academic selections, held by Manhattan, Monmouth and Saint Peter's.
Chigha is currently completing his MBA after graduating last spring with a degree in sociology, while Tarca is majoring in business management and the Robinsons are both majoring in journalism. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for MAAC All-Academic honors, which means that the Bobcats had over half of their eligible roster chosen for the honor.
Quinnipiac will be in action this evening when it takes on Canisius in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Tournament at the Times Union Center in Albany.
