QU Women's Tennis Opens Spring Trip with Defeat to Navy

BRADENTON, Fla. .- The Quinnipiac women's tennis team dropped the first match of its Spring Break trip to Navy, falling by a 6-1 score to the 13-5 Midshipwomen at the IMG Tennis Academy. Freshman Dominique Vasile had a strong effort for the Bobcats at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-2, 6-4 win to pick up the team's lone point.

- Dominique Vasile improved to 8-4 in singles with her win at No. 2, picking up a straight set win.
- Freshman Payton Bradley won the first set at No. 3 singles by a 6-2 score, before Josie Rogers rallied back to win in three sets.
- Junior Proyfon Lohaphaisan also went three sets at No. 5 singles, winning the first set 6-3, but Carlee Conway came back to win in three.
- Freshman Courtney Nash went to a first-set tiebreaker at No. 6 singles, but fell 7-3 and ended up falling in two to Kaylah Hodge.
- Lohaphaisan and Nash had the best showing for the Bobcats in doubles, falling 6-4 at No. 3.
- Quinnipiac will have a day off before playing twice on Thursday, meeting Colgate in the morning and Bryant in the afternoon.
