WEST POINT, New York - The Quinnipiac women's tennis team will head to New York on Saturday, March 3, 2018, to face the Army West Point Black Knights in a non-conference matchup at 9 a.m. The two teams have become extremely familiar with each other, after playing one another a handful of times during tournament play in the fall.

- Jennifer Lu (Cypress Hill, California) picked up victories in both doubles and singles play for Quinnipiac against Saint Joseph's on Friday, Feb. 23. She picked up a victory in No. 1 Doubles while paired with Layla Rodriguez (Rancho Santa Margarita, California) by the score of 7-6 (7-3). Lu then struck for a victory in No. 2 Singles, 6-4, 6-4, for her 10th singles victory of the season.
- Dominque Vasile ( Bingham Farms, Michigan), earned her seventh victory of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 win in No. 1 Singles over the Hawks.
- Payton Bradley (Downingtown, Pennsylvania) continued the strong showing for the Bobcats against the Hawks, winning 7-6 (7-2), 5-7, 11-9 in No. 3 Singles for her seventh win of the season.
- Scarlett Blydenburgh (Chatham, New Jersey) defeated Saint Joseph's Sprinchmoller, 6-1, 6-2, for a victory in No. 5 Singles.
- Proyfon Lohaphaisan (Santa Clarita, California) notched her team-leading 11th singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 6 Singles to cap off Quinnipiac's 5-2 victory against Saint Joseph's
- Rodriguez picked up the lone victory for Quinnipiac against Drexel with a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 victory over Mya Fuentes for her 10th singles victory of the season.
QUINNIPIAC NOTES AND STORYLINES
- Vasile was named the MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday, Feb. 21, after her strong performance against the Binghamton Bearcats. Vasile earned a win in No. 1 Singles and No. 2 Doubles.
- Quinnipiac women's tennis was unanimous favorites to win the 2017-18 MAAC Championship in the league's preseason poll.
- Lohaphaisan currently leads all Bobcats with 11 wins so far in singles play this season.
- Rodriguez and Lu are currently tied for second place on the team with 10 singles victories.
- Lu competed in the 2017 Oracle/ ITA Masters at the Malibu Racquet Club in Malibu, California.
- Early in the 2017-18 season, Lu won two-straight consolation brackets in A singles at the Stony Brook and Quinnipiac Invitationals.
- Lu and Rodriguez participated in the Hofstra Invitational in doubles, reaching the finals.
- The duo combined for three wins over the weekend, including two wins in the Doubles A bracket to advance to the Finals.
- One of their victories came over including a victory over Fordham's Carina Ma and Estelle Wong, 7-6 (8-3). Ma and Wong were undefeated to start the 2017-18 season until being defeated by Lu and Rodriguez.
- The Bobcats dominated their first two MAAC matchup of the year, beating the Rider Broncs, 7-0 and Saint Peter's, 7-0.
- Three-time MAAC Coach of the Year, Paula Miller, announced Proyfon Lohaphaisan and Amy Zammarieh(Trumbull, Connecticut) as the captains of the Quinnipiac women's tennis team for 2018.
- The Bobcat freshmen have started strong so far this season, combining for a total of 32 singles matches.
- The freshman wins leader in singles play is Courtney Nash, who has 8 singles victory in her young career.
- Payton Bradley (Downingtown, Pennsylvania) is 7-10 overall and the freshman obtained two victories in her first MAAC matchup of the year. She also is 2-2 in doubles competition with Dominique Vasile (Bingham Farms, Michigan).
- The duo also made an appearance at the ITA Regionals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Vasile picked up a victory over Khan (TU) 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 at the ITA Regionals.
- Vasile is now 7-4 on the season.
- Vasile picked up three victories to win the B Singles Consolation bracket at the Army West Point Invitational, defeating Michal Matson from Seton Hall, 8-2, in the championship.
- Stephanie Yanosov (Cherry Hill, New Jersey) scored a 6-2, 6-0 victory in singles play against Rider in one of the Bobcats' first two MAAC matchups of the year.
- Yanosov is 2-3 in her freshman-year campaign.
- Quinnipiac has won the last four MAAC Championships since joining the league in the 2013-14 season. The Bobcats have still never lost a MAAC match, going a combined 40-0 in the last four years in both the regular season and postseason.
