Bobcats Defense Allows Just 12 Shots on Goal, Shortridge Tallies First Shutout of Season
HAMDEN, Conn. – Daniel Winslow (Fairfield, Connecticut) scored his first career goal and Andrew Shortridge (Anchorage, Alaska) tallied his first shutout of the season as the No. 12/13 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team blanked the Rensselaer Engineers, 3-0, Friday night in the first home ECAC Hockey game of the 2018-19 season.
Quinnipiac played one of its best defensive games of the season, allowing just 12 shots on goal for its lowest shots on goal allowed total of the season. Shortridge remained focused in net, making 10 saves through the first two periods before making just two in the final frame to close out the night.
In addition to Winslow's first goal of the season, Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) and Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minneso
ta) each scored power-play goals to lead the Quinnipiac offense to its sixth game with at least three goals this season.

- (5:03, 1st period) – Quinnipiac 1, Rensselaer 0: TJ Friedmann (St. Louis, Missouri) circled from the left corner and fired a puck on net just above the left faceoff circle. Joe O'Connor (Hamden, Connecticut) tipped the shot and after the rebound kicked out off a save by Linden Marshall, Winslow swung at the puck and batted home his first career goal.
- (10:33, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 2, Rensselaer 0: The Bobcats continued their impressive power-play performance this season as Brogan Rafferty (Dundee, Illinois) passed the puck down to Priskie in the left faceoff circle. Priskie quickly fired the puck to Tufto at the right point where he rifled home the power-play goal.
- (14:25, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 3, Rensselae
r 0: Priskie picked up his team-leading seventh goal of the season with a power-play tally late in the third period. Peter DiLiberatore (Bedford, Nova Scotia) collected a long pass from Priskie off a faceoff win from William Fällström (Stockholm, Sweden) before making a point-to-point pass where Priskie fired home his fourth power-play goal of the season.
- Shortridge was spectacular in his second start of the season Friday night, making 12 saves in his seventh career shutout
- With his seventh shutout, Shortridge is tied for the fourth most shutouts in program history
- Quinnipiac's 12 shots on goal allowed is its fewest allowed in a game since allowing just 12 shots on goal at Princeton on Dec. 7, 2012 in a 3-1 victory over the Tigers

- Fällström added the Bobcats final point on the night with an assist on Priskie's power-play goal, his third assist of the season
- The Bobcats return to Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena Saturday night to wrap up the Bobcats home weekend against the No. 12/13 Union Dutchmen at 7 p.m.
