Williams Scores Career-High 19 Points, Bobcats Earn Comeback Win vs. Maine

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball earned its second straight non-conference win on Sunday afternoon, topping Maine by the final score of 58-50 on Lender Court at the People's United Center in Hamden.
Tyrese Williams (Beacon, N.Y.) led the way with 19 points and seven rebounds – both a career high for the freshman. The Bobcats shot 13-for-25 (52.0 percent) from the floor in the second half, nailing seven 3-pointers over the final 20 minutes.
Quinnipiac trailed 26-19 at halftime, then outscored the Black Bears 39-24 over the second half of action to earn the home win.
"I thought that our guys really brought a great deal of energy in the second half. It's nice for us to show each other that we can turn the tide mid-game. Guys were really moving the ball, playing off each other well in that second half. It's a good win, we'll take it, and we've obviously got a ton to work on moving forward to keep getting better."

- Quinnipiac shot 19-for-45 (38.8 percent) from the field in total, going 13-for-25 in the second half of play (52.0 percent). The Bobcats made seven of 11 3-pointers on the day in the second half of play.
- The Bobcats forced 15 Maine turnovers, recording a season-best seven steals in the victory.
