HAMDEN, Conn. – The Bobcats downed Fairfield in five sets for the first time in program history as a member of the MAAC conference. Lydia Jones tied her season-high 14 kills with a hitting percentage of .407. Kat Miller notched her 12th double-double of the year with 15 kills and 11 digs. Morgan Sherwin tallied 16 kills as the third Bobcat to have double-digit kills in the win.

FIRST SET (Quinnipiac 25, Fairfield 18) –As the Bobcats jumped to a 12-7 lead off a kill by Kat Miller, the Stags took a timeout to reassess the first set action. Quinnipiac would extend the lead to 22-10 after four attacking errors from Fairfield. However, the Stags would come back and score five points in a row to make the score, 24-18, in favor of the Bobcats. Morgan Sherwin scored the set-winning point to give Quinnipiac the 1-0 lead.

SECOND SET (Quinnipiac 16, Fairfield 25)– Fairfield would find their momentum in the second set and take a 17-9 lead off Luci Alberston's kill. The Stags would hold on to the lead and keep the Bobcats at 16 points in the second set.

THIRD SET (Quinnipiac 25, Fairfield 22)– The third set would go back and forth between the two teams as Lydia Jones notched a kill to take the score to 9-8. Later, Miller hit kill that would give the Bobcats a two-point lead (16-14). With the score tied, 23-23, Quinnipiac scored the last three points to take the third set.

FOURTH SET (Quinnipiac 22, Fairfield 25) – The fourth set was close, but the Stags were able to take the fourth set and keep the match alive after a set-winning point from Sydney Williams.

FIFTH SET (Quinnipiac 15, Fairfield 11)– The Bobcats went on a 5-1 run to open the fifth set. Fairfield would inch back after a kill and a Bobcat attacking error making the score 5-3. The Bobcats stayed focused to keep the lead for the rest of the set and win, 15-11, after a kill from Sherwin.

NOTES

Lydia Jones tied her season-high 14 kills and hit .470 with two blocks.
Kat Miller's double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs was her 12th of the season. She also lead the team with three blocks.
Morgan Sherwin tallied 16 kills and five digs.
Maria Pansari tallied 51 assists.
This is Miller's third double-double in a row.
Sherwin has recorded double-digit kills in the last five of six matches.
