HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's rugby heads back on the road for a match with the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game is schedule to start at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 20th.

Senior Roskopf and junior Maples has combined for 14 tries so far this season as each player has tallied seven on the season.

Freshman Margot Vella (Leppington, Australia) has made four trips to the try zone so far this season. The speedy wing has burst onto the scene as a big-time player for the Bobcats scoring tries against Harvard, Norwich and NDC this season before scoring against Brown this past weekend.
MCKENNA HAZ IT ALL UNDER CONTROL
Haz was 10-for-13 on Saturday afternoon against Harvard, pushing her season total to 24 successful tries.

LAST TIME OUT
- Quinnipiac dominated last Saturday, beating the Brown Bears, 85-3, behind 13 tries by seven different Bobcats.
- The Bobcats' 85 points against the Bears was the most Quinnipiac has scored since they scored 94 points against West Chester in the NIRA Quarterfinals on November 12th, 2016.
- Clara Lemal-Brown's (Wooster, Ohio) four scores pushed her career and season total to six tries in 2018. The first-year Bobcat's other tries came in Quinnipiac's first two games of the season against Harvard and Dartmouth.
- Mikah Maples (Mowequa, Illinois) scored her sixth and seventh tries of the season.
- Allison Koenig's (Waukesha, Wisconsin) try to give the Bobcats the early 17-0 lead was her third career try. She scored a try at Harvard after her first try came in Quinnipiac's victory over Notre Dame College a few games ago.
- Matja Saarenheimo-Vanderhorst's (Grandville, Michigan) try to open the scoring in the second half was the freshman's first career try in the blue and gold.
- Caitria Sands' (Essex, Vermont) try with a pinch over 30 minutes to play in the game was her second try of 2018 after she scored at Harvard.
- Margot Vella's (Leppington, Australia) try was her fourth career try. Her last try of 2018 came in the Bobcats' 33-10 victory over Notre Dame College.
- Emily Roskopf's (Dublin, California) try gave her seven tries of the season.
- The two captains, Roskopf and Maples, are currently tied with seven tries so far this season as the two seniors combined for three tries on Saturday.
- Remy Spires' (Sebastian, Florida) last-minute try was the sophomore's second try of 2018. Her first try came in the Bobcats' victory over Norwich.
- Mckenna Haz's (Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia) try was the first career try for the freshman.
- Haz also struck for 10 good conversions in 13 attempts on the day to push her 2018 total to 24 on the season.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE NITTANY LIONS
- The Quinnipiac women's rugby team defeated Penn State, 36-27, on September 23rd, 2017, the last time these two teams met
- Rebecca Haight '18 and Ilona Maher '18 each scored a pair of tries in the victory.
- Taylor Schussler '18 put the Bobcats ahead for the first time in the match with a try just over 10 minutes into the second half.
- Emily Roskopf (Dublin, California) added some insurance with her try to put the score to 34-27 late in the second half.
- Margaret Wesolowski '18 was successful on the final three conversions of the match.
- Penn State scored first in the match, but Haight tied the score with her first try off the day with 28 minutes remaining in the first half.
- After Penn State went on a 15-0 run, Maher broke free for her first try of the match and brought the score to 20-10 with three minutes remaining in the first half.
- Haight's second try brought the score to 20-15 three minutes into the second half
- The Bobcats went outscored Penn State 31-7 after Penn State's run in the first half
