HAMDEN, Conn. – Amanda Blum (Langhorne, Pa.) and Valerie Perkins (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) both recorded goals on Friday afternoon in Hamden but Quinnipiac Field Hockey fell vs. Providence by the final score of 6-2.

12:09 (Providence 1, Quinnipiac 0) – Maddie Babineau scored her third goal of the season to get the Friars on the board first, firing a rocket into the back of the cage from the top of the circle to make it 1-0.
17:35 (Providence 2, Quinnipiac 0) – Allyson Parker tallied her seventh goal of the year just over five minutes later. She gained possession on a loose ball out in front of the cage, then blasted a shot into the top portion of the cage to extend the lead to two.
43:21 (Providence 3, Quinnipiac 0) – Amanda Collins made it 3-0 Friars in the second half, finding the back of the cage on an assist from Mikayla Michels to extend Providence's lead.
44:09 (Providence 4, Quinnipiac 0) – Izzy Mendez grabbed her seventh score of 2018 just 48 seconds later, as Mikayla Michels earned another assist to help the Friars extend the lead to four.

60:01 (Providence 6, Quinnipiac 1) – Amanda Blum (Langhorne, Pa.) got the Bobcats' on the board, scoring her second career goal and second goal of the season. Jess Halley (Glasgow, Scotland) sent a perfect pass across the field to Blum, who tapped the ball into the open cage from out in front of the goal to make it 6-1.
68:21 (Providence 6, Quinnipiac 2) – Valerie Perkins (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) grabbed her second goal of the season in the final two minutes of action, one-timing a pass from Elisa van Winkel (Heeze, Netherlands) into the cage to give the Bobcats their second goal of the game.

NOTES

Hannah Teicher made three saves in the loss, and now owns a 3.50 goals-against average to go along with a .563 save percentage in 2018.
The Bobcats recorded 11 total shots and attempted seven penalty corners in the loss. Quinnipiac has now attempted double-digit shot totals in five contests this year.
The goals for both Blum and Perkins were their second of the season, and Halley and van Winkel now both have two assists.
