HANOVER, N.H. – Quinnipiac junior Luciana Tobia-Palza (La Paz, Bolivia) broke the program single-round record with a 65 (-7) for the first round of the Dartmouth Invitational to lead Quinnipiac to a nine-stroke lead through the first 18 holes at the Hanover Country Club. The Bobcats combined for a 290 (+2), leading second-place Albany (299, +11). Tobia-Palza set the previous record, 70 (-2), during the second round of last year's Dartmouth Invitational.

Head Coach John O'Connor:
"This was an amazing day today. It was perfect weather for golf on a perfect golf course. We expect another good one here tomorrow. Obviously, Luciana's 65 today is a new record for Quinnipiac golf. It's not a course record, but it's only two strokes off of the course record. She had seven birdies today. It was a great round."
"The two freshmen did outstanding. Elena shot an 80, which was a nice round and Queenie shot a 77. Stephanie shot a 74 today. Alexandra had a great round as well as Julia, but the talk around this place today is how special Luciana played."
UPCOMING GAMES
Quinnipiac will wrap-up the Dartmouth Invitational with the second round commencing on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Hanover Country Club in Hanover, N.H.
