QU A&T Wins Two NCATA Individual National Championships; Rule, Tallman Named All-Americans

ASUZA, California – The Quinnipiac University acrobatics & tumbling team won the Synchronized Toss National Championship for the second-straight year and also won the Open Toss National Championship at the 2017 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association National Individual Championships at Azusa Pacific University. In addition, Kelsey Rule and Allee Tallman were honored with their second All-American honors of their career.

Tallman has now been recognized in back-to-back seasons after also earning All-American accolades in 2016. Tallman competed in a team-leading 99 heats this season in leading the Bobcats to the NCATA Semifinals for the second-straight year. Tallman was part of the Compulsory Pyramid team that averaged a 9.77 and the Compulsory Toss heat that averaged a 9.88 in nine meets. She also led Quinnipiac to a 9.63 average in the Acro 7-Element heat and a 9.90. For the year, heats in which Tallman competed in – not counting the Team Event – accounted for 934.75 total points and 103.861 points per meet.
For Rule, the 2014 NCATA Rookie of the Year finished her career the way she started it – with an All-American honor. As a top, Rule competed in 54 heats over the course of nine meets. In each event, her team averaged a 9.30 or higher including a 9.77 in the Compulsory Pyramid, a 9.77 in the Acro 6-Element, a 9.54 in the Toss Synchronized heat, a 9.8 in the Open Toss Heat and a 9.7 in the Open Pass. For the year, Rule contributed 521.165 points towards her team's totals at a 57.90 per meet clip.
