QU Baseball Drops Contest vs. Radford, 4-0, on Saturday Afternoon

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - Quinnipiac baseball dropped its fourth-straight contest on Saturday afternoon at David F. Couch Ballpark, falling to Radford by the final score of 4-0 in the second day of the Wake Forest Tournament. The Bobcats fall to 4-5 overall on the 2017 season with the loss.
Danny Hrbek tossed a complete-game no-hitter for Radford, striking out eight batters over 9.0 innings. The no-hitter is the Highlanders' first since 1995.
Junior Taylor Luciani (Berlin, CT) started his first game of the 2017 season on the mound for the Bobcats, tossing an impressive 2.0 innings and giving up just two hits and no earned runs with two strikeouts.
Wyatt Hamilton (Falmouth, MA) threw the next 4.0 innings, giving up seven hits and just two earned runs to go along with three punch outs. Brandon Shileikis (North Dighton, MA) went the final 3.0 innings on the hill, surrendering just three hits and one earned run with two strikeouts.
The Bobcats' pitchers forced 14 fly outs and four ground outs on the afternoon in total.
Quinnipiac is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, March. 5, 2017 - looking to get back on track against against Kent State at 10 a.m.
