FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - The Quinnipiac men's soccer team saw its season come to an end Thursday evening, after the Bobcats fell to top-seeded and MAAC regular season champion Fairfield Stags on the road, 3-2 in penalty kicks after neither team was able to find the back of the net after 110 minutes of playing.

NOTES

With the loss in PK's, the Bobcats end their season with an 8-9-2 (7-4-1 MAAC) record, including the MAAC Tournament.
Despite the loss, Quinnipiac's appearance in the MAAC semifinals marked its seventh conference semifinal contest in 10 seasons.
Quinnipiac outshot Fairfield 9-5 and 5-3 in shots on goal.
Neither team was able to score during 90 minutes of regulation or in either of the 10 minute overtime periods, forcing penalty kicks.
After the first round of PK's, the two sides were tied at one apiece, however, Fairfield nailed two of its next four, while Quinnipiac only made one more.
Chrysostomos Iakovidis (Thessaloniki, Greece) recorded three saves to finish the season with seven shutouts.
The shutout was the 14th of the sophomore's career.
Iakovidis ended the season recording three shutouts in Quinnipiac's last five contests.
It was the 15th time this season where Iakovidis has held the opponent to one goal or less this season.
Iakovidis concludes the season with 18th-straight contests where he has held the opponent to two goals or less.
Two-year captain James Doig (Liverpool, England) concludes his career with 38 wins, which is the most wins by a player in program-history.

Quinnipiac loses William Pustari (North Haven, Connecticut), Shaquille Huggins (Diego Martin, Trinidad), Filosmar Cordeiro (Stamford, Connecticut) and captains Max Rothenbuecher (Munich, Germany) and Doig to graduation. However, the Bobcats will return the rest of the team that contributed 37 of the Bobcats 54 points (69%) points this season.
