
Kelsey Rule Named NCATA Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior top Kelsey Rule (Kendall Park, New Jersey) has been named the NCATA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, March 2. The award is the first for Rule in her three-year career as a Bobcat.
Rule helped lead the Bobcats to their highest score of the season over the weekend as Quinnipiac took down Gannon, 280.545-258.960. The junior competed in eight different heats against the Golden Knights while the Bobcats recorded wins in seven of them.
In the Compulsory round, Rule took part in both the Acro and Toss routines, helping QU to scores of 9.7 and 9.95 respectively. Rule then led the Bobcats to another huge score of 9.95 in the 6-Element heat of the Acro event before participating in the first Pyramid heat to score a 9.85.
The junior then helped Quinnipiac capture the Toss event by leading the Bobcats in the final two heats. QU scored a 9.65 in the second heat before recording a 9.30 in the final heat.
In the Tumbling round, Rule joined two of her teammates to produce an 8.25 on the way to victory in the Trio Pass.
Lastly, the top combined with 20 other Bobcats in the Team event as Quinnipiac scored a season-high 100.82.
Rule and the Bobcats are back in action over spring break with two meets out west. On Saturday, March 12, Quinnipiac will visit the University of Oregon at 9 p.m. EST followed by a matchup with Azusa Pacific on Tuesday, March 15 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
