Orlando, Florida – The Quinnipiac women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, but Lehigh rebounded in singles to defeat the Bobcats, 5-2. Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York) picked up two more victories to move up to 145 in her career, surpassing Sarah Viebrock '13 for the third most wins in program history.
Raynor picked up the only singles victory for the Bobcats while she and Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, New Jersey) picked up a win in doubles. It was their 70th win as a double team. The Bobcats top doubles pair was challenged by Christina Auyeung and Jamie Campisi but the challenge was not enough, as Raynor and Dassa won, 8-6. Raynor has picked up 24 wins this season to lead the Bobcats, and already has five wins this week down in Florida.
The other two doubles matches were won with more ease for the Bobcats, as Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut) and Sydney Young (Austin, Texas) teamed up once again this spring in No. 2 doubles and took down the Mountain Hawks pair of Briana Maravich and Jessica Graham, 8-5. In No. 3 doubles, Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Florida) and Sitilia Rencheli (Sarasota, Florida) cruised to an 8-1 victory over Cassidy Cruz and Kirstin Godau.
Raynor breezed to her second victory of the day in No. 2 singles as she faced Lehigh's Cruz and took a commanding first set lead and didn't look back, winning 6-1, 6-4. The Mountain Hawks won every other match to steal the win from the Bobcats. In No. 1 singles, Auyeung took on Dzulynsky and won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Horton forced a tiebreaker in the first set of her match at No. 3 singles with Campisi, but Campisi just barely got the edge on Horton, 7-6 (5), 6-4. After falling in the first set, Young battled with Maravich in the second set of their No. 4 singles match but Maravich took the win, 6-2, 7-5. Godau and Dassa faced off at No. 5 singles but the Mountain Hawk won in straight sets over Dassa, 6-2, 6-2. Abby Farrell got her first appearance of the match at No. 6 singles as she took on Ariana Launie (Milton, Massachusetts), also competing for the first time but Farrell just barely got the best of Launie, 6-4, 6-4.
