MID-WEEK MAACTION
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team resumes MAAC action on Wednesday, October 28 at the Burt Kahn Court in Hamden. The Bobcats will take on the first place Siena Saints at 7 p.m. in Hamden.
ALL-TIME AGAINST SIENA
Siena is undefeated against the Bobcats, entering the contest 14-0. Last season, the Saints took six straight sets in back-to-back matches against Quinnipiac. On October 11, Siena took the first match of the year, 3-1 (12-25, 25-19, 18-25, 19-25), in Loudonville, New York. Elizabeth Kloos led QU with nine kills while Jen Coffey recorded eight kills to go along with eight digs. Freshman Kat Miller tallied 24 assists, nine digs and six kills in the loss.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saints come to Hamden leading the MAAC at 9-2 in conference action and 13-8 overall. Siena is currently riding a five game win streak which began with their victory over Quinnipiac. After taking down the Bobcats, the Saints went on to defeat Marist, Binghamton, Rider and Saint Peter's. Their two MAAC loses came earlier in the season against Fairfield and Rider. Junior Briana Flagg leads the conference in kills averaging 4.26 per set. Flagg has tallied 307 kills through 21 matches.
LAST TIME OUT
On Sunday, the Bobcats took down UMass Lowell in five sets, 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 25-29, 20-25, 17-15). After falling to the River Hawks in five sets earlier this year, Quinnipiac secured the rematch thanks to 11 blocks and 54 kills.
CAREER KILLING
Against the River Hawks, freshman Jen Coffey smashed a career high 18 kills to lead the Bobcats to victory. Coffey's previous career high was 13 which she achieved twice earlier this season.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
In the win on Sunday against UMass Lowell, both Kat Miller and Sierra Dawson recorded double-doubles. Miller tallied 27 assists and 11 digs in her team-leading seventh double-double of the season. Dawson posted 19 assists and 11 digs to register her first double-double of the season.
DIGGING FOR DEFENSE
On Sunday, five different Bobcats recorded double-digit digs as Quinnipiac totaled 78 in the match. Senior Chandler Thornton led QU with 19 digs followed by 13 from junior Emma Ogden. Kat Miller, Sierra Dawson and Cody Michaels each added 11 digs against the River Hawks.
FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS
Freshman Kat Miller had a day to remember on Saturday of the UMass Lowell Invitational. On her way to being named to the All-Tournament Team, Miller displayed her versatility on the court, posting a combined 64 assists, 22 digs, 15 total blocks and 10 kills through two games. Against San Jose State, the freshman nearly recorded a triple-double, tallying 29 assists, 10 digs and nine blocks. She followed up that performance with another double-double against the host school. In the second game Miller registered 35 assists, 11 digs and six blocks.
MILLER TIME
Against UMass Lowell, Miller recorded her seventh double-double of the season. In the match at Manhattan, she led the Bobcats in assists with 21 and in digs, tallying 13. Earlier in the season the freshman posted four consecutive double-doubles. She leads the team with 327 assists averaging 3.85 per set while also topping the ranks with 236 digs and a 2.78 per set average.
KLOOS LETS LOOSE
Against UMass Lowell, Elizabeth Kloos tallied 12 kills, seven digs and seven total blocks. The sophomore has 12 blocks in the last two matches and leads the team with 85 on the year including 13 solo and 72 assisted. She ranks third in the overall MAAC standings averaging 1.00 blocks per set.
WE WILL, WE WILL BLOCK YOU
Quinnipiac leads the MAAC with a 2.14 blocks per set average. They have 182.5 total blocks which include 40 solo blocks and 285 assisted. Kloos leads QU with 85 blocks while Kat Miller has 61 and junior Sam Alechko 58 to the total.
COFFEY ON THE GRIND
With the 18 kills against UMass Lowell, freshman outside hitter Jen Coffey has tallied at least 10 kills in six of the last eight matches. In two straight matches she led QU with 13 kills. Against Saint Peter's, Coffey tallied a career high 13 kills on 35 attacks. The freshman hit at a .257 clip while adding one block and two digs. She matched that total against Marist on 23 swings with a .304 hitting percentage. Coffey leads the squad with a 2.69 kills per set average and is 10th in the league with a 2.79 average in conference play.

With the win over Saint Peter's, the Bobcats secured their first MAAC win in nearly two years. Quinnipiac's last conference victory came on November 3, 2013 in Jersey City when they took down the Peacocks in five sets.
HITTING THEIR STRIDE
The Bobcats played some of their best volleyball of the year in the second set against Saint Peter's. Quinnipiac captured a huge, 25-7 win in the frame. The Bobcats went on 8-0, 6-0 and 5-0 runs in the victory while recording zero errors and a .562 hitting percentage.
COMEBACK KIDS
In the third set against Saint Peter's, the Bobcats came from behind multiple times to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Down 16-9, Quinnipiac went on a 10-2 run to take a one point lead with the help of five Bobcat slams and a Miller service ace. The Peacocks rebounded with six straight points to go up, 24-19 and needed just one more point for the victory. Quinnipiac answered with their best play of the day, the Bobcats shutout the Peacocks while rallying off seven consecutive points for the win.
ON DECK
After the mid-week match against Siena, the Bobcats will host a weekend MAAC doubleheader. On Saturday, October 31, Quinnipiac will take on the Niagara Purple Eagles at 1 p.m. from Burt Kahn Court. The next day, the Bobcats will welcome the Canisius Golden Griffins for another 1 p.m. showdown.
