Baltimore, Md. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats opened up the Greyhound Invitational against the host Loyola Greyhounds. After a strong start and a comeback that forced a fifth, the Bobcats would ultimately fall to the Greyhounds 3-2.
Despite winning the first set of the match 25-20 the Bobcats fell behind the Greyhounds as Loyola would take the next two matches 25-22 and 25-20. However, Quinnipiac would not go quietly as they rebounded by taking forth set 25-18. This forth set ended with the Bobcats going on a 14-7 run to end to the match. Quinnipiac would tie the score at 4-4 in the final set before Loyola finished off Quinnipiac with an 11-6 run.
The Bobcats attack was led by sophomore Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.) with 16 kills while freshman Jamie Termotto (Smithtown, N.Y.) added 10 kills. Freshman Sierra Dawson (Larkspur, Calif.) was a crucial table setter for the Bobcats as she had 38 assists in the game. This was a big game for the young Bobcats as another freshman Elizabeth Kloos (Munster, Ind.) led the team with six blocks.
The Bobcats will look to rebound tomorrow as they finish the Greyhound Invitational with a double header. The first game of this doubleheader will kick off at 1:30 where Quinnipiac will look to rebound against the Saint Francis Red Flash. Following that contest, the Bobcats will be in action again at 4:30 where they will wrap up the day with the Dartmouth Green Terror.
