Fairfield, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match-up at Fairfield, falling 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-18) in consecutive sets. Quinnipiac drops to 2-12 on the season with a 0-3 conference record while Fairfield improves to 6-8 and 2-2 in the conference. In the all-time series Quinnipiac drops to 0-4 vs. Fairfield.
The Bobcats were lead on the attack today by Senior Tierra Allen (Sumter, S.C.) who had her best game of the season. In the match, Allen totaled a team-high six kills and an impressive .500 shooting percentage.
Freshman Elizabeth Kloos (Munster,Ind.) had a strong game on offense and defense for the Bobcats as well, finishing second on the team in kills with five while also setting a personal best for digs with eight - also a team-high. Kloos finished second in blocks with two for the game behind sophomore Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska) who once-again led the Bobcats with three blocks. In a limited role this season, Kloos has been a solid all-around player for the Bobcats who could be a big part of the Bobcats' future.
The Bobcats were also led in the assist department for the first time in four games by someone not named Sierra Dawson. Sophomore Cody Michaels (Versailles, Ky.) and Freshman Nicolo Milillo (Lynbrook, N.Y.) shouldered the load against Fairfield. In the match, Michaels led the team with eight assists while Milillo had seven assists which were both personal bests for the season.
The Bobcats return to action tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 28 with the backend of their weekend doubleheader. Quinnipiac takes on the University of Hartford at Chase Family Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
