
Oklahoma Baptist Edges Women's Tennis, 4-3

Fla. - Juliet Labarthe (Oklahoma City, Okla.) extended her singles
winning streak to eight matches, but the Quinnipiac University
women's tennis team was defeated by Oklahoma Baptist, 4-3, Thursday
evening. The loss concludes the Bobcats' spring break trip in
Florida, where they went 3-1 to move to 5-6 overall. Oklahoma
Baptist improved to 4-3.
Labarthe earned a double win, pairing with Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) to defeat Mariana Rosa and Diana Barns, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles, before cruising past Rosa, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 3 singles.
Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) and Lavinia Cristescu (West Hartford, Conn.) also earned singles victories. Steinert defeated Katie Halbesleben, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4, while Cristescu beat Barns, 6-4, 6-0.
However, the Bobcats fell at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles, as well as Nos. 1, 2 and 6 singles as Oklahoma Baptist claimed the victory.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday, when they play host to Hofstra. First serve from the Quinnipiac Tennis Courts is scheduled for 3 p.m.
