
Northern Iowa Defeats Women's Tennis, 5-2

POINT, N.Y. - Quinnipiac's Juliet Labarthe (Oklahoma City, Okla.)
and Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) were double winners for the
second straight match, but the Bobcats women's tennis team was
defeated by Northern Iowa, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Army. With
the loss, the Bobcats fall to 2-5 on the season, while the Panthers
improve to 8-5.
Labarthe and Viebrock combined on an 8-4 victory against Jessica Kunzelmann and Krissy Lankelma at No. 2 doubles. Labarthe then cruised past Lara Okicki, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. Viebrock battled past Kunzelmann in three sets at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).
The Panthers won the No. 1 and 3 doubles flights to take the doubles point, before taking four of six singles flights to earn the 5-2 victory.
The Bobcats return to action Monday, when they begin a four-match spring break trip to Orlando, Fla., against Western Illinois. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
