
Women's Tennis Falls At UConn, 5-2

Conn. - Sophomore Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) and freshman Juliet
Labarthe (Oklahoma City, Okla.) were both double winners, but the
Quinnipiac University women's tennis team was defeated by UConn,
5-2, in the Bobcats' dual match opener. With the loss, the Bobcats
fall to 0-1, while the Huskies improve to 1-1.
The Huskies won No. 1 and 3 doubles to take the doubles point, while winning singles matches at No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 to account for the 5-2 score.
Viebrock and Labarthe paired to defeat Alexa Gregory and Abby McKeon, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles. Viebrock then defeated Lauren Wilmarth, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 4 singles, while Labarthe got past Gregory, 6-2, 7-6 (3), at No. 3 singles.
The Bobcats return to action Friday, when select players will take part in the ITA Northeast Regionals, being played at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
