
Women's Tennis Earns Road Win At Villanova, 5-2

VILLANOVA, Pa. Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.) and Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) were all double winners as the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team defeated Villanova, 5-2, Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 7-9, while the Wildcats fall to 1-13.
Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) also earned a singles win, while Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) paired with Markison to win at No. 1 doubles.
Markison and Wilson defeated Kristin Gobberg and Jaclyn Williamson, 8-0, in the top doubles flight. Markison then beat Carla Erskine, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
Duckor and Steinert paired at No. 2 doubles to defeat Allison Solberg and Erskine, 8-5. Duckor then outlasted Courtney Reed, 6-0, 1-6, 7-6 (1), at No. 3 singles. Steinert handled Solberg at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-3.
Adams took three sets to beat Daniella Phillis, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday, when Quinnipiac will honor its two-member senior class prior to its match against Stony Brook. Matches are set to begin at 2 p.m. on the Quinnipiac Outdoor Tennis Courts.
