
Rachel Cantor Earns Fourth NEC Rookie of the Week Award

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University women's tennis freshman Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, the league office today announced. The award is Cantor's fourth in seven weeks, including honors in each of the past two weeks. She also earned NEC Player of the Week on Sept. 22.
Cantor made quick work of Fairfield's Kristen Liu, 6-3, 6-1, in the opening round of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships. She then fell to the fourth-seeded player in the tournament, Brown's Bianca Aboubakare, 6-1, 6-2, in the Round of 64.
For the fall, Cantor finished with a 12-5 record, including a 7-2 singles mark.
