Women's Tennis Draws Miami In NCAA First Round

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's tennis team will travel to the University of Miami (Fla.) to face the No. 12-seeded Hurricanes in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced Tuesday. The match is scheduled for Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. The first and second rounds will take place in Coral Gables, Fla., with the winner between Miami and the Bobcats facing the winner of the Notre Dame and Florida International match, Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m.
The Bobcats will be playing in their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament after defeating Long Island University, 4-2, in the Northeast Conference Championship. Previous tournament destinations included two trips to Stanford (2004, 2006), and one each to Georgia (2005) and UCLA (2007).
