
Men's Tennis Draws No. 2 Seed In NEC Tournament

HAMDEN, Conn. The Quinnipiac men's tennis team has drawn the No. 2 seed for this weekend's Northeast Conference Championships, the conference office announced Monday. After the Bobcats won three straight titles from 2004-06, Fairleigh Dickinson took the crown last season, and is ranked No. 1 in this year's tournament. The Bobcats will open play against No. 7 Saint Francis (Pa.), Friday, not before 11 a.m.
The tournament format calls for the first and quarterfinal founds to be played on Friday, followed by the semifinals, April 19, and finals, April 20. In other match-ups, Fairleigh Dickinson will face the winner between No. 8 St. Francis (N.Y.) and No. 9 Wagner, while No. 4 Sacred Heart will face No. 5 Robert Morris. Rounding out the field will be No. 3 Monmouth and No. 6 Mount St. Mary's.
The Bobcats get a final tune-up for the tournament when they play Stony Brook, Tuesday on Long Island. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
