Mary Wilson Named Prince/NEC Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac sophomore women's tennis player Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) has been named the Prince/Northeast Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Wilson scored a pair of victories against reigning NEC Player of the Year, Julija Korshunova, of Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday en route to earning the award.
Wilson first paired with doubles partner Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.) to defeat Korshunova and Dzana Ferhatbegovic, 8-5, at the No. 1 flight. She then defeated Korshunova in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. For the season, Wilson is 26-15, including a 14-8 singles mark.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, when they play host to Army at 3 p.m.
