Robbie Hitt ’17 has joined the Quinnipiac Baseball staff as the pitching coach and will enter his first season in 2025-26.
The Quinnipiac standout returns to his alma mater after a brief professional career in the Milwaukee Brewers farm system and a season as the pitching coach at Westfield State University.
At Westfield State, Hitt ran all aspects of the pitching staff. Hitt developed and executed performance plans and throwing programs for over 40 student athletes. Hitt also prepared scouting reports based on video analysis, led in-game defensive/pitching strategy, and was responsible for pitch calling and running the bullpen. Hitt assisted in on-campus and off-campus recruiting for the program and helped the Owls rank first in the MASCAC in team ERA in consecutive seasons. The Owls also ranked 9th nationally with a 3.64 ERA in 2024.
Hitt spent the summer of 2025 with the Valley Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, having focused on pitching and data analytics. Hitt enhanced the in-game experience with pitch calling as he collaborated with the analytics team to develop scouting reports and game strategy.
Prior to the start of his coaching career, Hitt played in the Milwaukee Brewers organization for five seasons after being drafted in the 24th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. Hitt played for five different affiliate teams, totaling 249.1 innings pitched. After his stint in the Brewers organization, Hitt played two seasons with the Sussex County Miners of the Frontier League. Hitt amassed 53.2 innings pitched with 65 strikeouts and 26 saves, which earned him a Frontier League All-Star game appearance in 2023.
Hitt graduated from Quinnipiac in December of 2018 with a B.S in Business Management.
