Mckenzie Owens is entering her fourth year as a member of the Quinnipiac University Athletic Training staff, where she has worked with the Women's Lacrosse, Women's Soccer,and Softball programs.
Owens earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 2018. During her undergraduate studies, she gained valuable experience as a student athletic trainer with several local high schools and colleges and was assigned to the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) in 2017. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Owens was a four-year member of the Golden Wolves softball team, serving as a starting left fielder and catcher. She also participated in intramural volleyball and worked within the university's intramural sports program.
Following graduation, Owens pursued a Masters in Health Administration at Western Connecticut State University, graduating in 2020. While completing her graduate degree, she served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, primarily covering football, softball, and women's basketball.
During her time at Western Connecticut State, Owens attended Oxford Ambulance Association and earned her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. She continued her commitment to emergency medicine by volunteering as an EMT following certification.
After completing her graduate assistantship, Owens relocated to Newport News, Virginia, where she worked as an Athletic Trainer and Orthotic Fitter with Riverside Orthopedics for two years. In 2022, she joined AdaptHealth as an Intake Specialist while balancing the responsibilities of growing her family.
In 2026, Owens further expanded her professional credentials by earning the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Owens currently resides in East Haven, Connecticut, with her husband, Jacob, their two sons, Braxton and Rory, and their dogs, Sven and Clover. In her free time, she enjoys strength training, spending time on the water, supporting local farmers markets, and making memories with her family and pets.
