Ethan Doherty enters his second season as a graduate assistant with the Quinnipiac men’s basketball program. He joined the Bobcats' staff prior to the 2025-26 season.
Doherty graduated from Coastal Carolina in May 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. During his time with the Chanticleers, he served as the men’s basketball team manager under legendary head coach Cliff Ellis, who concluded his historic career as the ninth-winningest coach in NCAA Division I history with 831 victories.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Doherty spent his summers developing his coaching and administrative skills as a worker and intern with prominent grassroots basketball organizations, including Big Shots Basketball and the Hoop Group summer camps.
A local product, Doherty graduated from Hamden Hall Country Day School in 2021. He played high school basketball for his father, Sean Doherty, a former nine-year assistant coach for the Quinnipiac men's basketball team. During his prep career, Ethan was a key member of Hamden Hall's historic 2018-19 squad, which posted a 25-2 record and captured the NEPSAC Class B championship. In recognition of his leadership and commitment to the program, he was awarded the Hamden Hall Athletics Hornet Award in 2021.
Doherty is currently pursuing his master's degree in the Sports Journalism graduate program at Quinnipiac University.
